Pogues Show

As many of you know I am a LONGTIME Pogues fan. When I created my bucketlist two and half years ago, Number 21 (no certain order) on my list was: To see the Pogues live in concert with Shane MacGowan. I thought this was pretty much an impossibility because Shane had all but divorced the band in 1995 and let’s face it…Shane isn’t the epitome of living a healthy lifestyle. Well last week I got to see them! It was all the original members. It was an incredible show that I will never forget! Shane was staggering drunk but sounded amazing. I wasn’t able to get a photopass so I snuck in my little point and shoot camera (which had video on it!). You can check out the photos under the “music” gallery on my main page.

Hey everyone, unpunk has a very busy week this week!

Slideshow at the Movie Premier Party – Corners Bar and Grill (Indiantown and Alt. A1A) – 12/11/08 – 9:00pm

I’ve been asked to put together a photo slide show in support of the new, locally made movie about the surf culture in Juno Beach. The movie is premiering at the theater on Indiantown and Alt. A1A at 7:30 pm Thursday Dec, 11th. You might want to check with Jimmy at Local’s about advanced tickets because I know they will be tight! After the premier there will be an after-party at Corners Bar and Grill where I will be showing my slide show. I have put together a kickass slide show of punkrock, surfing and absolutley cool photography! Most of these shots have not appeared on the website or have been shown to the public so come out and support the scene at Corners!

Art & Car Show – Howley’s Bar and Grill (Dixie & Southern – WPB) – 12/15/08 – 7:00 pm

Hot rods, beer, art and pin ups…what more could you ask for? Unpunk will be showing photos at the arts how sponsored by Howley’s Bar and Grill next week. While some of the photos will be surf related, most will be more artistic shots that typically won’t make the website…little different favor fav! Come check it out! Sonny DePalma (of the Rat Fink fame) will be showing his incredible art, Anthony “00 Mack” White will be throwing down some insanely tight pinstriping and Hellcat Tattoo artists will have their paintings on display. Killa opportunity to see some REALLY, REALLY cool art!

Carbonite = STAY AWAY!!!!

2 hours, 14 minutes and 43…44…45 seconds that I have been on hold with Carbonite cusotmer service. AFTER waiting 45 minutes for a live on line support tech that told me that he was sending me an email that would explain to me how to restore lost files from THEIR site! The email explained to me how to restore files from their site to my desktop but nothing about finding lost files on their site. My harddrive bombed so I was relieved that I had Carbonite until I went to download the backup files and they were GONE! Five years of work, my wedding pictures and family events….GONE! All I got was…

Print Run!!!

Unpunk is going in for a print run on Thursday October 16th. So if you were thinking about buying some photography…now is the time. I get discounts from my printer when I bring him larger volume print runs so I pass it on to you. Here’s the deal…

- Orders and payments must be in to me now later than 4pm Thursday October 16th.

New Camera

Just my friggin’ luck. Some of you have contacted me about photos I shot of you and I basically told you “they suck and I’m not releasing them.” I apologize. See, I bought my dream camera last month and shot a SHITLOAD of shots with it. Unfortunately, I was never satisfied with the quality of the images and thought I must of pushed the “SUCK” button. So I kept shooting with it. I got some absolutely killer shots of some incredible surfing but they are all slightly out of focus. Long story short, I found out there was no “SUCK” button and the camera was defective. I sent it back and I am getting a new one in a couple weeks. COOLIO!!! Meanwhile, I picked up a backup camera that is shooting fine! So hopefully we don’t run into this again! Sorry that I wasn’t able to release those shots!

Wipe Out Page

If you haven’t checked out the new shots on the site you should really head over that way! I added a new gallery called “Wipe Outs”. It is well worth the trip over there! Before you say anything…I feel that if you’re not eating shit once in a while…your not pushing yourself hard enough!!!! This page is for all the guys (and girls) that are pushing the limits! Gettin’ Some Killa Shots!

Swell Shots

Just wanted to let you guys know that I have been getting some killer shots but it’s going to take some time going through all of them. Last Thursday, during the Kyle swell, I shot 2,600 pictures at the Jupiter Inlet and the next day I shot another 800 from the pier…so bear with me! Offhand, I know I got some great shots of Neal VanderWaal, Jensen Callaway, Karl Strand, Duncan Crosby, Alan Boyd, Casey Flewellen, Jen Morris, Jersey Jay and a bunch more. If you know any of these guys tell them their photos are up here and to contact me.

From the Water Shots

In other news, I took my waterhousing out into the wave for a new perspective on things. I figured out that the white wash sucks! I’m sore as hell, my eyes burn, I pinched a nerve in my neck, got a sandbar burn on my back and I can’t wait to get back out there! I’m hooked! Please, if I get in your way on a wave have a little patience, I’m not trying to screw your run up…or you can just run my ass over. I’ll be a heavily tattooed 275 lb speedbump. Trust me, I’ve been clipped by a fin before…I’ll try my best to steer clear! OH…one other thing…don’t smile, this ain’t your third grade school picture. I can’t believe how many guys took their eye off the wave and cracked their pearly whites for me…DON’T…you’ll just look like a pretty boy prick!

Thoughts for Travis Barker

Blink 182…Transplants…like’em or hate’em. Our thoughts go out to Travis Barker for a speedy recovery after the plane crash that took several of his friends and left him with second and third degree burns. I was fortune enough to meet the guy briefly at a Blink 182 show several years back when I was still promoting in CA. In the few minutes I talked to him I could immediately tell this guy was cool as hell! Although Blink 182 is kinda bubblegum punk the guy has true punk rock roots. It was kinda cool when he left Blink and formed The Transplants with my buddy Tim and my former roommate Rob. Like I said, I met the guy briefly but all the same…he’s a cool guy that has been through some shit (and has more shit to contend with) and deserves some well wishes!

Another Epic Day Upon Us…

In eager anticipation we watch the surf report…”Tomorrow (9/24/08) we are expecting 8 to 10 foot swells, 11 second intervals, sunny skies and a light 5-10 knot onshore wind.”

YAAAAHHHOOOO! I’m callin’ in sick…wait…I’m the boss! Strike that…doing “market research” from the pier tomorrow!!!! For those of you who will be out tomorrow, remember…if you see me shooting pictures of you, give me your name! I can’t submit your shots to publications unless I know your name. I’m expecting some ideal surf photography conditions so remember to brush your hair!
